Obituary of Wilson A. Matthews, Jr.

Age 86, of South Fayette, on August 28, 2020. Beloved husband for 56 years of Phyllis (Smith) Matthews; loving father of Wilson A. (Kathleen) Matthews, III, Brian S. (Heather) Matthews and Marlaina S. (Raymond) Wolfe; cherished Pap Pap of Makenzie, Madison, Justin, Brandon, Morgan and Brooke Matthews and Tristan and Zoey Wolfe; brother of Donald (Vonnie) Matthews, Elaine McGraw, the late Robert Matthews, Keith Matthews, LaVerne (Quintin) Greer and the late Mal Matthews. Wilson was a graduate of South Fayette High School, class of 1954. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in Korea. He was an 18 year member and past V.P. of the South Fayette V.F.D, and part of the first class of paramedics in the area. Friends received on Wednesday from 4-8 PM at the Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412.221.3333). Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11 AM at Bethany Presbyterian Church. MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED. Interment private at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
