Obituary of Peter Hronakes

Peter Gus Hronakes, 85, of Upper St. Clair died Saturday, May 9 2020 at home surrounded by his loved ones. Peter is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Myrna, and his two children, Krista Sommer (Chris) and Peter David. Peter was born on June 30, 1934 to George and Elizabeth (Yuhas) Hronakes in Clairton, PA. He served his country for two years in the United States Army, and later earned his Doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. Peter spent his career in education at the Avonworth School District. He was an active member of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church of Mt. Lebanon, where he served on the parish council for many years. In the summer, he spent most of his days outside gardening. He also enjoyed traveling, theater and visiting friends and family. In light of current events, all services will be private.
