My grandma, aka Milliemom, was the absolute best. Anything I ever needed-a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on, or if all I needed was some company-she was right there. I grew up having her right next door to me and I was over there just as much, if not more, than I was at home. We used to always go to the Renaissance Festival (she loved the Washing Wenches!) and those are some of my favorite memories of many that I will forever cherish. ❤️

Words cannot convey my deep love and affection for my Aunt Millie. Millie was such a big part of my young life. So many fond memories: I was in her wedding as the flower girl (don't remember it), the old and new house at 263 St. Clair St., Millie smoking a cigarette and drinking a cup of coffee, having the best birthday and new year's eve parties EVER, the box of new years hats, the pork and sauerkraut and pretzel at midnight, pots and pans banging, bunco and jewelry parties for the adults, 1st air conditioning window unit in the master bedroom, Millie's many beautiful night gowns and jewelry, cleaning the floor with a half piece of flip-flop because she didn't have a vacuum cleaner, playing cards (solitare) at the table after cleaning up dinner, her collection of the wishbones hanging on the light above the sink and all her salt and pepper shakers, working on a puzzle in the old hallway, spending many sleepovers with her sister Kathy before Larry was born. All of these memories remind me of the woman I knew and will keep deep inside my heart. May her soul Rest In Peace. All my love, Peggy (Damer) Stern.

Peggy-Thank you so much for sharing such nice memories. I too remember the New Years pretzels, and banging the pots and pans right at midnight. I can close my eyes and still see her playing solitaire, and having her morning coffee and cigarette.
Love, Mandi
