My sincere condolences to Patricia and family. I was a high school classmate and teammate of Bob's at South Fayette. We reconnected 50 years after graduation and I found him to be the same good guy I had known. He will be missed by his many friends.

Bob was a respected upper class mate of mine, playing the cherished Quarterback position. I did not have the privilege to follow his college career as I was too busy getting my Engineering degree from Carnegie Tech ( now Carnegie Mellon) while brother Bill was getting his Engineering and Physics degrees. I also recall “Billie Matinee”, as my younger brother Bob called him in the lower grades, being a good competitor. Very good family from what I clearly recall, with Bob’s father always supporting Bob by close interface with all of the coaches. My condolences.

When married to Gene Kruluts we had many family gatherings. Butts was a very fun loving person. Always with a smile on his face. I could go on and on about him so I will just sum it up with he was a wonderful human being. I am happy to have known him. May he rest in peace. He will be missed by all who knew him.

I knew Butts since I was in first grade. He was one of a kind, always lending a hand to help someone. One of the best athletic to graduate from South Fayette High School.
