Obituary of William L. White, Sr.

Of Nottingham Twp., formerly of South Park, passed on January 30, 2019, his 79th birthday.  Beloved husband of Patricia “Teeky” (Selan) White for 52 wonderful years; loving father of William (Jennifer) White, Jr. and Laurie (Jude) Dressler; devoted Pap-Pap of Matthew White, Sydney and Savannah Dressler; preceded in death by parents Mary F. (Henderson) and Billie R. White; brother of June Holmes and Joel White; brother-in-law of Matthew “Speedy” Selan; cherished uncle of Jimmy Aiello, Jamie Beck, Jody, Molly, Chrissy, Bethany and Matthew.  Mr. White retired after 35 years as a Middle School Teacher, curriculum leader for Math and Science, served as head of the planetarium and enrichment program for U.S.C. School District. He was a member of the Peace Corp and a retired Treasurer of PA State Teachers Middle School Association. A lifelong learner, Bill was an avid fisherman, loved camping, reading, traveling, model train collecting, bird watching and wide variety of many other hobbies and activities.  He attended St. Clair Cardiac Rehab for 16 years.  Family and friends received on Friday, February 1, from 2-4 and 6-9 PM at the Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412.221.3333).  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 2, at 10 AM at St. Thomas More Church.  Memorials may be made to U.S.C. Cardiac Rehabilitation Center, St. Clair Hospital, 1000 Bower Hill Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15243, ATTN: David.
