Obituary of Abiathar T. Bishop

.Bishop Abiathar "Abby" Age 83, of Upper St. Clair, on March 24, 2012. Beloved husband of Betty Jane "Vicki" Bishop, loving father of Abby (Susan) Bishop, Jr. of Pittsburgh, Matthew (Craig Chapman) Bishop of Bellevue, WA and Brett (Lori King) Bishop of Pittsburgh, grandfather of Alexandra, Victoria, Lyssa, Bria and Brett Bishop, Jr. and brother of Rosemarie Dugan of Pittsburgh. Mr. Bishop was a retired employee of the City of Pittsburgh Controller"s Office. A veteran of the U.S.M.C. and a graduate of the Univ. of Southern Mississippi, where he was a two time All-American in basketball. He also coached high school basketball which encompassed 32 rewarding years as head coach of St. George H.S., Hilltop Catholic H.S. and St. Elizabeth H.S. His teams won 2 State Championships in 1960 and 1966. Friends received Wednesday and Thursday, 2-4 & 7-9 PM, in the Warchol Funeral Home, Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, 10:30 AM, in St. Louise de Marillac Church. Family suggests memorial contributions to Children"s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
