Obituary of Adolphus Augustus Drake

Age 92, of Upper St. Clair , passed away on June 8, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Mary "Dewsy" Drake; loving father of Dawn (Kim Losego) McQuillen, Ann (Steve) Buttlar and Denise (Gary) Kurp; grandfather of Megan and Patrick McQuillen and Katie and Allie Kurp; brother of the late Mildred Hinton, Elsie Mae Benson and Betsy Thomas and former father-in-law of Mark McQuillen. Gus was an honored WWII veteran serving as Staff Sergeant in the 80th Airborne AA Battalion of the United States Army. He spent his career at Westinghouse Credit Corporation in various managerial positions. He was a proud member of the 82nd Airborne Association, 1SG Leonard A. Funk Chapter. The family would like to express a special thank you to Country Meadows for their friendship and kindness. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333), where a service will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 AM. Interment and full military honors at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Memorial contributions may be made to the 82nd Airborne Association, 147 Greenlea Drive, Moon Township, PA 15108.
