Of Upper St. Clair, 86, born April 5, 1925, in Sygan, PA, died February 3, 2012. Beloved husband of 64 years of Gladys (Ladley) Chappel. Loving father of Kathryn Ann Kunde (Charles) of Land O" Lakes, FL; the late Donna Louise; Leslie Howard of Upper St. Clair; Donna Elizabeth Wik (Mark) of Washington, PA; William Lloyd (Sandra) of Washington, PA, and Deborah Sue Kaucic (Jeffrey) of Upper St. Clair; "Pap" to nine grandchildren: Sherrin Razdrih (Gary) of Riverview, FL; Kristoffer Wik of Mt. Lebanon; Aaron Wik (Betsy Dovec-Wik) of Bellevue; USAF TSgt Nathan Wik (Kelly) of Tucson, AZ; Jonathan Wik (Terah) of Washington, PA; Jaclyn, William, and Harrison Chappel of Washington, PA, and Annaliese Kaucic of Upper St. Clair. Also survived by five great-grandchildren; Kaleigh Kunde of Riverview, FL; Tanner Cooper and Zachary Wik of Mt. Lebanon, and Brennan and Presley Wik of Tucson, AZ; son of the late Richard and Kathryn (Durbin) Chappel of Sygan, PA; brother of Paul E. Chappel of Bridgeville and Donald L. Chappel of Weirton, WV, and the late George, Nell Ludlam, James, Raymond, Harry, Hayes, and Richard. Retired from Universal Cyclops Steel Corporation. Longtime Elder of the First Christian Church of Carnegie and member of Masonic Centennial Lodge 544, and SOAR. Howard was an Army Veteran of WWII, and served after the war as a guard at the trials held in Nuremberg, Germany. Friends received Monday, 2-4 & 6-9 PM, in the WARCHOL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333). A Christian Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, 11 AM, in the First Christian Church of Carnegie (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment will be in Melrose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the First Christian Church of Carnegie, Anthony and Lydia Streets, Carnegie, PA 15106, or to your favorite charity.
