Dear cousins Donnie and David, and Lena,
I heard of Uncle Don's death a few days after Christmas, as I was away from home visiting my husband's family. It was surprising and upsetting news to be sure. I remember Uncle Don - "Spunk," my dad would call him - with affection and respect. He had such a pleasant disposition. I remember holding hands with him at Grandma Chappel's funeral. Lena, we've never met, but I'm certain you are a special person. I'm so sorry for your loss. You all have my deepest sympathy and you're in my prayers. May God comfort and guide you.

Dear Lena,
I was so shocked and saddened to hear today of Don's passing. The holidays make the heartbreak even harder I think. My dad died several days before Christmas. I will have you in my prayers. I know your faith will offer you some comfort.
Peace my friend,
Lee Ann

My sincerest sympathy goes out to the friends and family of Donald. It is such a difficult time to deal with. I didn't know him personally but, having lost someone dear to me, I can empathize with the pain you have and continue to experience. What comfort such scriptures as John 5:28,29 brought me! You will read there about the promise Jesus gave of resurrecting our loved ones back to life. When he resurrected His friend Lazarus back to life ( John 11:38-44 ) He showed his ability and desire to fulfill that promise. Can you just imagine the joy Lazarus' sisters felt when they held him in thier arms once again? This joy we too will feel in the very near future. Until that day comes, we have the promise that God will draw close to those whose hearts have been broken ( Psalms 34:18 ) I truly hope these few scriptures have helped lessen the pain you feel as they had mine.

So sorry to hear of Don's death. We are Marlamont Way neighbors and will miss his smiling face. I will miss chatting with him about his tomatoes and his yard. He gave me a bit of advice on my garden from time to time.
I always enjoyed watching him working in his yard. Linda
