Sadly, I just learned of Gary"s death. I met Gary in 1958 when my family moved from Carrick to Brentwood, about three doors down Brownsville Road from the Hirsch"s. My parents knew Gary"s parents so, although Gary was five years older, he kindly let me hang around him like a little brother until I got to know the other kids in the neighborhood. Among the younger boys in the neighborhood, Gary was looked up to as a leader and role model. We lost touch over the years, but I"ll never forget his kindness and big heart. Rest in peace my friend.

Lauren, Nick and Jason,
My heart goes out to you – I"m so very sorry for your loss. Actually I"m sorry for the loss to all of us – Gary touched so many lives over the years – his passing leaves a void in many hearts on this earth.
I knew Gary since the early 80"s and he has always been a special friend , although we seldom saw one another and were in touch via email only once or twice a year. Gary was truly ‘one of a kind" and will be missed by all.
You three were his LIFE, and his love for, and pride in, each of you was his life"s job. My prayers are with you all.

Dear Hirsh Family:
My heart goes out to all of you, at this time. I had the privilege of training with Mr. Hirsch at Kim's Martial Arts. We might not have been close, but I always liked and respected him, both as a practitioner and as an individual. I promise you he will not be forgotten in those walls. I will be thinking of you all, and of him as well. I am glad I was able to know him.

Hirsch Family,
My sincere condolences on the loss of your dear husband and father. Reading about all his career work and life interests, I realize that the passion and joy of life he exuded whenever he joined us for a ski trip is how he lived all facets of his life. And one thing in particular stands out, how I remember he proudly being there for your Senior Presentation, something that few parents bother doing -- family was everything. Clearly he was a great role model and will pass on those fine qualities to his own sons as future fathers.
God Bless,
Mr. Sekelik

Dear Lauren and boys, Gary was a great friend and I will greatly miss him. He and I were considered the old men on basketball Friday he sure loved to play. He use to make fuN of me about my computer skills, but he could always fix anything that I did wrongheaded was my computer guru. We will always remember his cheery spirit. Remember I am always close if you need anything, love and god bless you.
