Obituary of Joseph P Stein

Stein, Joseph P. Sr. Age 91, of Jamestown, PA formerly of Scott Twp., on December 27, 2011. He was born in Pittsburgh on March 4, 1920 to Joseph A. and Hilda Ketter Stein. Beloved husband for 65 years of Jeannette (Murray) Stein; loving father of Joseph P. (Karen) Stein Jr., Maureen (Andrew) Karl, Paul J. Stein, Robert E. Stein, Marita (Tom) Gilligan, Janet A. Stein and the late Denis M. Stein, survived by his wife Maureen; devoted grandfather of Lauren Stein McLean, Rebecca Stein Fisher, Jeffrey and J. Paul Stein III, Alison Karl Forman, Brian and Timothy Karl, David, Mary and Peter Stein; Melissa Stein Schwarzmeier, Kristen and Michael Stein, Meghan, Bridget, and Molly Gilligan, Justin Stein, and 10 great-grandchildren; and brother of John J. Stein, who passed away the previous day. Joe Stein was a veteran of WWII, having served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was a retired career employee of Bell Telephone and former volunteer at the Bridgeville Public Library. Joe was devoted to his faith, his family, good books, and the pursuit of "the one that got away." A longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Victory Church in Andover, OH, he was active in the Men"s Club and served as a Eucharistic Minister and an adult altar server. Friends received Friday, 2-4 & 6-8 PM, in the Warchol Funeral Home, Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, 10 AM, in Our Lady of Grace Church; Scott Twp. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
