Obituary of Chester Trzcinski

Trzcinski Chester J. Age 88, of Frederick, Maryland passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at his residence at Heartfields Assisted Living. He was the husband of the late Jean Dozzo Trzcinski. Born September 18, 1923 in Glendale PA, he was the son of the late Jan and Victoria Borowski Trzcinski. Chester, the youngest of seven children he was preceded in death by his brothers, Benjamin Shinksy, Stanley Trzcinski and his sisters, Helen Trzcinksi Prohoska, Jule Trzcinski Drexler, Agnes Trzcinski Prohoska and Stella Trzcinski Witzel. Mr. Trzcinski served in the US Army as a member of the 94th depot supply squadron stationed in England during WWII. After his military service, Mr. Trzcinski worked as a mason with his brother-in law for numerous years before he joined Ryan Homes as a field supervisor in the Pittsburgh area. In 1988, he transferred to the Mid-Atlantic area as a senior estimator where he continued to work until his retirement. During his 40 years of employment with Ryan Homes, Mr. Trzcinski received numerous awards for his service, but most regarded was his Ryan Homes Hall of Fame award. In addition to his work, Chester had several passions. An avid coin and stamp collector he was a life- long member of the South Hills Coin Club and Pennsylvania Association of Numismatists where he held the office of treasurer for many years. His interests varied greatly in sports, from tennis to hockey but watching the Pittsburgh sports teams gave him no greater joy. Additionally, he spent many weeknights and weekends volunteering at St. Clair Hospital. Chester leaves behind several nieces, nephews, Jean Supan and husband Dick, Raymond Witzel and wife Mary Ann, John Witzel and wife Mary Ann and Dennis Witzel. He also leaves behind several great nieces and nephews. Chester will be remembered by many other special friends whose lives he touched and called him family, especially Joanne Grus, husband Rick and sons Matthew and Michael. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, November 12, at 10 AM, in Holy Child Parish, Bridgeville. Inurnment to follow in St. Agatha Cemetery.
