Obituary of Robert R Holman

Holman Robert R. Age 85, of Bethel Park, on November 7, 2011. Beloved husband of Ruth I. (Ralston) Holman, loving father of Janet R. Holman, Mark E. (Donna) Holman, Valerie H. (Marcus) Flowers, Christine A. Holman and Michele P. (Wesley) Fish, brother of Esther (Elbert) Dempsey, also 4 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. A minister for Community of Christ church, Bethel Park and a longtime volunteer for South Hills Interfaith Ministries. A retired lieutenant and naval aviator in the U.S. Navy, serving in WWII and the Korean War. Mr. Holman retired as a consulting nuclear engineer, where he worked for Westinghouse Advanced Energy Systems. He was instrumental in the development of the NERVA nuclear rocket. He and his wife loved to travel, especially with their children when they were young. Friends received Friday, 2-4 & 6-8 PM, in the Warchol Funeral Home, Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333), where a service will be held Saturday, 11 AM.
