Amy E. (Purnell)
Age 103, of Bridgeville, on May 20, 2018. She was born on May 20, 1915. A daughter of the late Leroy and Viola (Jones) Purnell. Amy was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Bridgeville, where she served as a Deaconess and was the mother of the church. She was a retired LPN at Kane Hospital, Scott Twp. and volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the Bridgeville Area Food Bank. She is the beloved wife of the late Morris Perkins, Jr., loving mother of Elaine (Fred) Melvin, Gail Taylor and Rev. Gregory (Gloria) Perkins, cherished grandmother of Ingrid, Sharon and Tamala Melvin, Marc Taylor, Amy (Eric) Newsome, Gregory (Sherry) Perkins, Jr., Lisa (Joseph) Daughtery, Samuel Perkins and the late Thelma Perkins, sister of the late Clyde Purnell. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends received Friday, 2-4 and 6-8 PM, in the Warchol Funeral Home, Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333), where a service will be held Saturday at 11 AM, with the Rev. Gregory Perkins officiating. Interment to follow in Melrose Cemetery, South Fayette Twp.
