Obituary of Michael A. Nixon

Age 61, of Canonsburg, passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 25, 2018. He was born on October 13, 1956 in Washington, PA. A son of the late Alfred and Edna Custer Nixon. On September 16, 1978, he married Beth Hoholak, who survives. Michael was a member of the Canonsburg V.F.D. for 40 years and served as a trustee. He was the recipient of the Fire Fighter of the Year Award. He was currently employed at the PA Turnpike Commission. Surviving along with his wife Beth are two children; Joshua (Kristen) Nixon, of Pleasant Hills and Michelle (Nick) Lewandowski, of Canonsburg, three grandchildren; Carmella, Nicholas and Henry Lewandowski, a sister; Sandy (Mark) Wilcox of South Fayette Twp. and a brother; David (Gina) Nixon, of Canonsburg. Deceased is a sister Cindy (late Rick) Morrow. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends received Sunday, January 28, 7-9 PM and Monday, January 29, 2-4 and 7-9 PM, at the Warchol Funeral Home, Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333). A Fireman's Service will be held on Monday evening at 7:30 PM. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 30, at 11 AM, at Canonsburg U.P. Church with the Rev. Don Coleman officiating (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment to follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Canonsburg V.F.D. or Canonsburg U.P. Church.
