Joanne Vivienne Worst Grosso

Beloved Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, loving spouse of Joseph C. Grosso, Jr. (deceased).

Passed into Jesus’ saving mercies with family at her bedside Thursday, June 18th, 2026 at the age of 87.

Consistently declaring her belief in the Son of God, Jesus Christ, and even just the same week of her passing, having listened to Psalm 23 and requesting the saving promises of Almighty God to also be read to her from Psalm 91, she now rests from earth’s labors and bodily ailments of a long, well lived life.

To her beloved children and grandchildren – she was an anchor of joy, love, steadiness, and security – a ray of sunshine at every birthday, holiday, and family gathering. She never failed to make everyone around her feel loved, special, and at home – whether it was providing great food, gifts, or giant hugs full of love. Every year she brought Christmas wonder with her beautiful baby Jesus manger scenes and lavishly adorned angel-topped Christmas trees. Her undying devotion to her friends and family was always shining through her warm smile.

She never tired of finding ways to take care of her family.   She was a hardworking mother, cook, chauffeur, and encourager – she believed the best in everyone.   Her focus was always on others - whether it was with homemade crochet gifts, long telephone calls, delicious meals, or relentless support and encouragement. Up until her last moments – she wanted everyone else to feel loved – putting everyone else above herself.  She consistently put her children and grandchildren first – ensuring everyone around her felt her familiar love.

Her strong love extended onto many throughout her life. She loved friends of her children and her grandchildren like her own. Descibed as a “third grandma” by so many – her heart was full of love she shared everywhere she went, and the love she received in return brought her so much joy.

She is succeeded by her four children, Michael, Joseph, Thomas (1Lt USA Ret), Lisa (Malosh), their spouses Janet, Sherri, Theresa, (Grosso), and Greg (Malosh), and her grandchildren, Joshua, Shannon (Johnson), Heather (Haag), Bradley, Alex, Domenic, Amanda, Marissa, Megan, Ariel, and her miracle great-grandchildren, Luke, Samuel, McKenna, Wyatt, William, Brock and Nolan.

Family and friends received on Sunday from 12-4 PM at the Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412.221.3333).  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 12 PM at Our Lady of Grace Church of St. Michael the Archangel Parish.
