With deep sadness and loving remembrance, we announce the peaceful passing of James (Jim) A. Garrett Sr. on April 11. Jim was the cherished husband of Linda (Collins) Garrett and the devoted father of Jodie (Fincke) and Jimmy. He was a proud grandfather to Garrett, Collin, Jackson, and Ryan; beloved by nieces and nephews; and a lifelong fishing buddy and brother-in-law to Bill.

In his many years of happy retirement, Jim’s greatest joy was sharing his love for sports and the outdoors with his family. Whether he was teaching his grandchildren how to "cast a line" or guiding them as they planted their own special gardens, Jim’s wisdom and patience were constant. A loyal South Fayette fan, he was a fixture at local games, cheering loudly for the "Little Green Machine." He brought that same passion to the family fantasy football league and his lifelong devotion to the Pittsburgh Steelers, celebrating every victory and agonizing over every defeat.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the countless memories that keep his spirit close. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in our hearts.

Friends will be welcomed at Warchol Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 14th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm followed by a prayer service.  A reception in Jim’s honor will be held at the Fincke Family residence following the services; directions will be available at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
