Keith Edward Helbling Obituary

Age 54, of Upper St. Clair, on April 9, 2026.  Cherished son of Christine H. (Hartz) and the late Robert J. Helbling; loving brother of Carl (Laura) Helbling and Lynne (Sergio) Amatangelo; beloved uncle of Cara (Connor), Rachel (Garrett), Adam, Olivia, and Nicholas; also many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins; preceded in death by grandparents John (Jack) and Mildred Helbling and Carl and Pauline Hartz.

Keith greeted everyone he met with a big smile. Everyone was immediately a friend. He was most happy in a gathering of many people.  He lived life with a soundtrack of police scanners and the steady hum of a lawnmower, always eager to discuss the finer points of semi-trucks and fire engines. He was a collector of work gloves and tape measures, although he loved a supervisory role more than doing the work himself.

Keith personified goodness and light…a true pure soul.

He taught us many things over the years…to see the joy in the little things, live in the moment, approach each day with wonder, pass no judgement, embrace those different than you, be kind and empathetic, and everyone has the potential to be a new friend.

If you happen to see a shiny garbage truck or a particularly interesting snake, think of Keith—he’s likely somewhere right now, wearing a sturdy pair of work gloves and undoubtedly telling someone they “missed a spot”.

Family and friends received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412.221.3333).  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM at Our Lady of Grace Church of St. Michael the Archangel Parish.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bower Hill Volunteer Fire Department or YMCA Camp Kon-O-Kwee/Spencer.
