FRATTO

CAROLE ANN

After a long and meaningful life devoted to caring for others, Carole A. Fratto passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, at the age of 92, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Virginia Marusak, and her beloved husband of nearly 65 years, Dr. Nicholas S. Fratto.

Carole was the loving mother of Victoria (Patrick M. Garbinsky) Fratto of Oakdale, PA, Mary Beth (David) Kolan of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Caroline (Stephen) Hecht of South Fayette, PA, and Nicholas R. (Rhonda) Fratto of South Fayette, PA; cherished grandmother of Emily N. Garbinsky, Michael (Elizabeth) Kolan, Daniel (Catherine) Kolan, Sarah A. Urbanic, Anna G. Hecht, N. Rocco Fratto, and Sophia B. Fratto;  and great-grandmother to Connor and Cecilia Kolan. She is also survived by her sister, Virginia (the late John) Angloch; her brothers, Robert (Michelle) Marusak and James Musto; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Carole experienced a traumatic childhood that shaped her strength and resilience. At just 12 years old, she endured the loss of her father and stepped into a caregiving role for her younger siblings—an experience that defined her lifelong devotion to family.

She graduated as salutatorian of Scott Township High School in 1950, where she was also a cheerleader. In 1954, she married Nicholas, beginning a loving partnership that spanned nearly 65 years. She supported him in all his pursuits, even typing his 600-page dissertation—a story her children fondly recalled.

Though sometimes reserved, Carole’s loyalty and love ran deep. Once you earned her trust, you were embraced as family.

She cherished time with loved ones, especially during holidays which she made special through her cooking and hospitality. She took great pride in her children and grandchildren and celebrated their accomplishments with joy. She enjoyed playing piano, dancing, gardening, traveling, and playing cards. Her faith was very important to her and gave her strength throughout her life.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff and residents at Providence Point for their compassionate care.

All services and burial are private. Arrangements are entrusted to Warchol Funeral Home in Bridgeville, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Baptist Homes Society c/o Providence Point Personal Care.
