Florence Lois Jane Orient, known affectionately to her loved ones as Gay and Mamma O, departed this world too soon on Friday, October 17, 2025.

As her childhood nickname Gay suggests, she was happy, merry, and full of life. She had a sharp wit and a unique sense of humor - you couldn’t spend time with her without laughing. She loved to read, a passion reflected in the hundreds of books she collected and her frequent visits to Half Price Books.

Gay was delightfully clumsy yet somehow always managed to catch herself with grace. She spoke her mind without hesitation and loved her family fiercely, always putting herself last so that those she loved could shine first.

She leaves behind her loving family: Dennis, Shelley, Molly, Katie, Mike, MacKenzie, and Makayla; her sister Melody; and her brother Paul. She was preceded in death by her mother Jane, father Harry, and brother Hap. Gay was also deeply loved by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will carry her laughter and love in their hearts.

Family and friends are welcome to gather and celebrate her life on Saturday, October 25th. Visitation will be from 11 am – 2 pm, with a Celebration of Life Ceremony immediately following at 2 pm, at the Warchol Funeral Home, Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333). Please come ready to share stories, memories, and laughter.
