Ruth D. Karakis, age 96, of Pittsburgh, PA, entered eternal rest on October 2, 2025. Born on April 18, 1929, to the late Walt and Josephine Yeschke, Ruth lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Karakis, with whom she shared many cherished years of marriage. Together they raised a family that was her greatest joy. Ruth was the devoted mother of Judy White (Wayne) and John Karakis, and a proud grandmother to Josh Karakis (Allison), Tim Conlan (Melissa), Joy (Shawn) and Rick Kaffka. She was also blessed to be a great-grandmother to Hannah, Kayla, Timmy, Abby, Catharine, Thomas, Benjamin, Harbor, and Wilder.

Ruth devoted her life both to raising her family and to her work as a school secretary at Hillcrest Christian School, where her kindness and dedication touched many lives. Her faith in God was her compass, and she faithfully prayed for her loved ones by name every day.

A servant-hearted woman, Ruth gave generously of her time to others. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels, served as an inaugural member of the Bridgeville Public Library, and, in her retirement, spent many years at St. Clair Hospital assisting families during times of need.

Ruth’s life was a testament to love, service, and devotion. She will now be reunited with the love of her life, John, to bask in the glory of God.
