Of North Strabane Twp., formerly of Scott Twp., Judy passed peacefully in her home on September 16, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Elizabeth and John Mincin. She is survived by her sisters Elizabeth (John) Bello and Joann (Richard) Bonazza. She is also survived by her nephew and godson John (Debbie) Bello, nieces Lori (Vikram) Bello, Tammy (Carl) Bello, and Leah (Josh) Argento. Judy’s memory is cherished by numerous cousins, grand nieces and grand nephews, and very special friends. Judy is survived by and sorely missed by her companion of 41 years, Mr. James Jefferson.
Judy was a graduate of Edinboro University, earned a Masters of Education from Penn State University, and did a year of post-masters study at Arizona State University. Judy was a lifelong learner and educator. She was an elementary school teacher in the Chartiers Valley School district for 29 years. Judy was born to encourage and pass on the love of learning.
Judy was severely injured in a horrific auto accident at the age of 20. Against great odds, she survived. She continued to suffer medically and physically for the next 57 years, until she could no longer survive this last devastating illness. Despite these ills, Judy retained her love of family and friends. She remained vibrant in spirit and cared deeply for others. Judy loved her church and her Lord Jesus Christ. She is at peace at last and she will be sorely missed. Friends received Wednesday, September 24th from 2-7 pm at Warchol Funeral Home, Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333) where a service will be held Thursday, September 25th at 11 am. Internment in Melrose Cemetery.
