Obituary of Willa E. Cronin

Willa “Nonnie” Cronin Age 80, of Scott Township, passed away on April 29, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Paul F. Cronin, Willa was the heart of her family. Known to all as Nonnie, she was a constant source of love, laughter, and comfort. She was the devoted mother of Kathleen (Jeff) Russo, Rebecca Cronin, Victoria (Paul Corey) Blackham, and Dr. Paula (Anthony) Naples. Her greatest joy was being Nonnie to her grandchildren—Kyla (Tyler) Tunic, Brittany Blackham, James (Sarah) Beswick, George Blackham V, Samuel Naples, and Lucinda Naples—and her great-grandchildren, Stella Tunic, Theo Tunic, Benny Beswick and Zoe Beswick . Willa was preceded in death by her brothers Robert Turney, Herman (Jean) Turney, Don (Betty, who survives) Turney, Earl (Pat) Turney, Richard (Pat, who survives) Turney, and Edward (Char, who survives) Turney. She is also lovingly remembered by her brother-in-law Jim (Darla) Cronin and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Willa was a longtime member of the Salvini Plan Card Club, where she made many lasting friendships. In her later years, she found peace and joy in birding, delighting in watching and identifying the birds that visited her backyard. Willa’s kindness, warmth, and sense of humor touched all who knew her. She was a loving, wonderful woman until the very end, and her memory will continue to bring smiles to those who were lucky enough to know her. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 4–7 PM at the Warchol Funeral Home, Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333), where a Blessing Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 AM. Memorials may be made to Cornell Lab of Ornithology, that focuses on the study, conservation, and education related to birds and created the Merlin Bird ID App that Nonnie enjoyed using and sharing, 159 Sapsucker Woods Road, Ithaca, NY 14850 or www.birds.cornell.edu/home View and add condolences at: www.warcholfuneralhome.com
