Obituary of Khouria Janet M. (Deep) David

David Kh. Janet M. (Deep) Age 89, of Upper St. Clair, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025. Beloved wife of the late V. Rev. Samuel B. David, daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Deep, sister to surviving brothers Ronald (Carolyn) Deep and Donald (Annora) Deep. Preceded in death by siblings James (Eloise Mae) Deep, John (Dorothy) Deep, Joseph (Holly) Deep, Helen (John) Magliocca, Richard (Marianne) Deep, George (Arlene) Deep, Raymond (Diana) Deep, Ralph (Barbara) Deep and Robert (Barbara) Deep. Khouria Janet was the loving mother of Samuel (Janet) David, Daria (Rocco) Adams and Joseph (Sandra) David, devoted "Situ" (Grandmother) to Cassandra (Stephen) Bosela, Jeremy (Anna) David, Carley (William) Lyon, Justin David, Jonathan (Taylor) David, Kristen (Gabriel) Larson, David Adams and Samantha David. Great Grandmother to Eloise and Dimitri Bosela, Jack David (and baby brother due any day), Amelia Lyon and Miriam Larson. Khouria Janet was a faithful servant of God, singing in the choir and ministering to parishioners alongside her husband at St Ellien Orthodox Church in Brownsville PA, St George Orthodox Church in Terre Haute IN, St. George Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral in Oakland PA and other area churches for over 25 years; a ministry that continued long after his death in 1999. Her kindness, generosity and dedication to the Pittsburgh Orthodox community, Meals-On-Wheels, and other various area charities impacted all who knew her. In her later years, as it became more difficult for her to attend church, she would play old recordings of church services her husband presided over years earlier, as it brought her comfort hearing her husband's voice conducting the liturgical service. Her joyful nature and beautiful heart will be sorely missed. Her family is infinitely blessed to be the recipients of her unconditional devotion and love. Family and friends received Tuesday, April 1, from 4-8 PM, at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Bridgeville PA. Trisagion prayer service will be held at 7:30 PM to conclude the evening. Additional viewing on Wednesday, April 2, from 10-11 AM, at which time a funeral service will be held at 11 am. Interment to follow in St. George Orthodox Cemetery, Bridgeville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Orthodox Monastery of the Transfiguration, 321 Monastery Lane, Ellwood City, PA 16117.
