Janet Eileen (Newkirk)

Age 72, of Eighty-Four, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025. Beloved wife of Kenneth E. Woessner, loving stepmom of David H. (Kendy Hess) Woessner, devoted sister of Everett Newkirk, Jr., Bruce Newkirk, Lori (late James) Coates and the late Beverly (Jim) Mansfield, aunt of Jennifer (Tommy) Caddell. She will be sadly missed by her four-legged friend Gigi. She was a member of Mt. Lebanon Evangelical Presbyterian Church and a former member of Hiland Presbyterian Church, Ross Twp., where she sang in both of their choirs. Janet started her working career at Olan Mills Photography and then became a banker, working at several area banks, including PNC and Northwest. Music was a big part of her life, and she got the opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City twice. She was also a member of the Harmony Singers, along with her husband Ken. Friends received Wednesday, March 5, from 6-8 pm and Thursday, March 6, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, at the Warchol Funeral Home, Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333), where a Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 7, at 10 am, with the Rev. Cinda Isler as officiant. Interment will be private at Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills. A Memorial service to Celebrate Janet’s life will be scheduled at a later date.
