Norman V. Oden Obituary

Norman Virgil Oden, 81 of Bridgeville, PA. was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday January30th 2025 at St. Clair Hospital.


Norman was born on December 2nd, 1943, at Magee Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. to the late Charles and Thelma Oden of McDonald PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Bernadine Oden Jones and Cathy Oden.

Norman accepted the Lord under the leadership of Rev. George L Bowick of First Baptist Church McDonald PA.


Norman was a 1961 graduate of Fort Cherry High School. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Norman was employed at Woodville State Hospital, U.S. Steel Homestead Works, and retired from Reichhold Corporation in Bridgeville, PA.

Norman’s family was his pride and joy. He enjoyed cooking, grilling, fishing, camping, and making some of his mother’s recipes. Norman knew no strangers; he made friends everywhere he went. He tried to attend all activities of his children and grandchildren traveling near and far. If you needed something, he was always willing to give a helping hand.


Norman leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Diana Partee Oden of 54 years; Two daughters; Juanita (Willie) Tyler of Daisytown, PA. and Shawnda Demus of Scott Twp, PA. Two sons; Stephen (Stephanie) Oden, and Maurice Oden of Bridgeville. Grandchildren; Chaz (Shaya) Oden of Hopewell, PA.; Ciarra Oden of Charlotte, NC.; Chaylise Oden of Bridgeville, PA.; Ryan Robinson of Daisytown, PA.; Kelsy (Kris) Calhoun of Moreno Valley CA.; Kiera Tyler of Daisytown, PA.; Tyrek Dantzler of Scott Twp PA.; Mariah Demus of Homestead, PA.; Jordan Demus of Scott Twp, PA.; Kya Stephens of Scott Twp, PA.; Klarice Oden of Bridgeville, PA.; Great Grandchildren: Christopher and Izzy Robinson of Daisytown PA.; Audrianna, Mathis, and Brielle Oden of Hopewell, PA.; Amirah Carter of Scott Twp, PA. Norman will be missed by his two sisters, Daisy Joyce Rose of Rochester, PA. and Michelle Oden of Charlotte, NC. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be February 6, 2025, from 3pm-7pm at Warchol Funeral Home 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, PA. Funeral Service will be held on February 7, 2025, at Warchol Funeral Home at 12pm. Pastor Melanie Davis officiating. The burial is at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies 1158 Morgan Rd, Bridgeville, PA. 15017.
