DAVID “JOE”

Age 92, of Scott Township, died on July 25, 2024 at Juniper Village in the South Hills. He was born November 26, 1931, son of the late Earl and Mildred (Lankerd) Stewart of Kittanning, PA. He was a retired science teacher and football coach. He had a long and fulfilling career in the Franklin and Chartier’s Valley school systems. He truly treasured his contact with his students and student athletes. He was a loving husband and father, and he enjoyed sports of any kind. Survivors include three sons, Michael J. Stewart of Downers Grove, IL, Ronald Stewart and Richard Stewart of Pittsburgh, PA; a brother Alan Thomas of Kittanning, PA; grandchildren Jessica Steiner and Andrew Stewart; and a great granddaughter Lily Steiner. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Marlene (Klingensmith) Stewart.
