John Thomas Trocano of Upper St. Clair passed away on July 6, 2018, after a long illness. John is survived by his parents, Paschal and Patricia; his daughter Elizabeth Lewis (Michael); his son, Samuel; grandchildren Nora and Henry; siblings Joseph (Diane), Mary Ellen Joseph (Keith), and James (Lauren); and his companion Yvonne Lenhart.
John was born on October 15, 1957. He was a talented artist. His career in metalsmithing began in high school. He went on to earn a BFA from Edinboro University and a MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art. He spent more than three decades as a gold/silversmith creating original designs. He also enjoyed his career and colleagues at Red Bull.
He loved travel, concerts, attending Pittsburgh sporting events, and good food with his family and friends. He loved to garden and fix things, and had an amazing gift for both. Most importantly, he was an adoring Pop Pop to his grandchildren.
Family and friends may call on Monday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Warchol Funeral Home, 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333), and attend the funeral service there on Tuesday at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CERF+, an organization that provides a safety net for artists, at cerfplus.org/donate.

Celebrating the life of John Thomas Trocano
Thank you for signing John Thomas Trocano's Guestbook
So sorry to hear about John’ s passing. We were roommates and friends at Edinboro. He always laughed easily and was very generous in comments and deeds. We always enjoyed John’s trips back to Pittsburgh beacause he often returned with some awesome steaks, burgers etc from an Uncles’s (?) butcher shop! The planet lost a really good guy. Condolences to family and friends.

Sam and Elizabeth, not sure if you remember me, but I cleaned your house for many years, became friends with your Mom and Dad. Playing golf with your Dad numerous times. He was a good guy and made me a gold Irish ring that I now wear as my wedding ring. My thoughts are with you both.

John was one of the original pioneers for Red Bull Distribution Company, having joined and help build the Pittsburgh team since 2008! No matter how challenging the business need was, John led the charge and came back with his even-keeled/balanced view of it all. He was a RBDC "OG", amazing teammate, mentor, and friend. It was wonderful to see John out for Flug Tag last summer and he always kept up with the latest business developments, sharing his Passion for RB and the team even if not with us daily. John is family to us and will be deeply missed, and never forgotten. With love, the RBDC Family

Elizabeth and Sam: I remember Your Dad and his magnificent art every day. He made for me three amazing pieces: a pendant using my mother’s gold bracelet, a ring using my mother’s gold and my grandmother’s pearl and a pendant. I want you to know that the two of you and your Dad are in my thoughts and prayers. With love.

The jewelry John made for my mother, Martha, is so beautiful. She always treasured it, as will I! Thinking of the Trocano family at this was time. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord.
